Frequently asked questions

What visitors ask most

With the Integrated Mobility Card (MI). The card costs ~$15–20 MXN (about $1 USD) and works for Metro, Metrobús, Light Rail, Trolleybus and Ecobici. Fare per ride: $3 MXN (~20¢ USD). Cash is not accepted.
Yes. Three hours before each match, El Ajolote runs express between Tasqueña and Estadio Azteca with no intermediate stops.
Yes. The Fan Zone at Deportivo Xochimilco shows all matches on a giant screen for free. Exit at Francisco Goitia (1 min walk) or Terminal Xochimilco (~10 min).
Not directly. The Last Mile Operation closes a 1.5 km perimeter. Public transport is the most efficient option.
Cuemanco is in Xochimilco. The closest El Ajolote stop is Periférico. It's not within walking distance: take a taxi, ride-hailing app or local transit to the dock (a few minutes by car).
Yes. The system is used by millions daily and is safe for visitors. Your real risk is pickpocketing during rush hour, not anything worse. For the World Cup there is a reinforced security operation. Tip: watch your belongings, don't flash valuables, and stay alert in crowded cars.
Cash is NOT accepted on public transit. You need the Integrated Mobility (MI) Card, which costs ~$15–20 MXN and is topped up at Metro and Metrobús stations. Many stations now accept contactless tap-to-pay with international bank cards, but carrying the physical card is the safest backup.
The airport has no direct service to the stadium. Route: Metrobús Line 4 from T1/T2 toward downtown → Metro Line 2 to Tasqueña → Light Rail to Estadio Azteca. The full trip takes 90–120 min depending on connections. On match days, leave with plenty of time.
